Part 3 Festivals & Traditions 2
Question 4: Do you think traditions and festivals are getting less important in our society?
解题思路:
此题可以给出消极否定的回答。一方面政府支持传统节日的传承,一方面商业活动也借助节日来宣传营销。
Sample Answer:
I personally think that the significance of traditions and festivals depends on cultural context and individual perspectives. In China, for example, I don't think it's getting less valued or celebrated. The government has always been encouraging traditional festive activities, and companies use the opportunity to promote their products. So from what I’ve experienced, I don't think that's true.
Question 5: How have festivals and traditions changed over the years in your country? Do you think they will continue to evolve in the future?
解题思路:
此题可以从globalization全球化和modernization现代化两个角度拓展:外国节日在中国逐渐流行;中国节日庆祝逐渐简化。
Sample Answer:
well, overall, festivals and traditions in China have experienced transformations. Due to globalization, many cultural practices from other countries have been imported to our country. For example, people nowadays enjoy celebrating Christmas. Another change is that many festivities have been simplified cuz modern people seem to be much busier than before. I do believe that traditions will continue to evolve or adapt to contemporary lifestyles while preserving their cultural essence.
Question 6: Are there any traditional festivals that are not celebrated anymore in your country? If yes, why?
解题思路:
此题如果没有思路,可以给出否定答案,并使用原因和转折拓展。
Sample Answer:
Well, I'm not sure about that...maybe not? I mean I don't really know any traditional festivals that have disappeared in my culture. I guess in our education, there's this value that traditions are meant to be passed down from generations to generations. But it's certainly true that some celebrations may no longer exist anymore due to societal changes. For example, people used to make zongzi, or rice dumplings for dragon boat festival, but nowadays we just buy ready-made ones from the market.
