Part 3 Festivals & Traditions 1
Question 1: Do you think that festivals and traditions have an important role in society? Why or why not?
解题思路:
此题比较适合给出正面肯定的答案。传统节日可以帮助保留文化遗产,也有利于促进经济例如旅游业的发展。
Sample Answer:
Yes, festivals and traditions play a crucial role in society for two reasons. Firstly, they help preserve cultural heritage and identity. They remind us of our history and culture, and when people celebrate festivals together, this fosters a sense of national pride and sense of belonging. Secondly, festivals contribute to the local economy and tourism. Many festivals attract visitors from near and far, stimulating economic activities such as local businesses, hospitality, and tourism-related services.
Question 2: Have you ever participated in a festival or tradition from another country? What was it like?
解题思路:
此题 可以结合个人经历回答。如果缺乏相关经历,可以说一说在媒体(电视/书籍)中了解到的其他国家的传统活动。
Sample Answer:
Unfortunately, no. I have never travelled abroad yet, so I haven't got the chance to participate in a festival from another culture. But I've watched many American movies, and I’m very interested in Halloween, a time when people can wear scary costumes, and scare each other. It seems really fun and exciting!
Question 3: What is a traditional food or drink that people typically enjoy during festivals in your country?
解题思路:
此题可以讲饺子dumplings, 粽子rice dumplings, 月饼mooncakes, 汤圆sweet dumplings/sweet rice balls等。
Sample Answer:
Well, the first thing coming to my mind is dumplings. You see, Dumplings are a staple during Chinese New Year, symbolizing wealth, and prosperity.... and there's also Tangyuan, I mean, a kind of sweet rice balls traditionally eaten during the Lantern Festival, which marks the end of Chinese New Year celebrations. Besides, mooncakes are iconic treats associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival. They can be really sweet, so people usually serve them with tea while appreciating the full moon.
