Sample Answer 1 (6分段参考):
There is a person in my life who is incredibly helpful. Her name is Lisa, and she is my neighbor. I have known her for a few years now, and she is always ready to lend a hand whenever someone is in need.
Lisa is a very caring person and is always looking for ways to help others. She volunteers at the local community center, where she assists in organizing events and activities for the residents. She also offers her support to the elderly in our neighborhood by running errands for them or helping with household chores.
I have personally experienced Lisa's kindness and assistance on several occasions. Last year, when I was sick and unable to go grocery shopping, she offered to do it for me. She went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed, and even cooked a warm meal for me. Her help made a significant difference during that challenging time.
Moreover, Lisa is always available to offer advice and guidance whenever I face a problem. Whether it's about studying, relationships, or making important decisions, she patiently listens and provides valuable insights that help me navigate through difficult situations.
I am truly grateful to have someone like Lisa in my life. Her willingness to help others, her compassionate nature, and her practical support have made her an invaluable person in our community. She is a true role model, and I aspire to be as helpful and caring as she is.
Sample Answer 2 (7分段参考):
In my academic life, I’ve received lots of help from others, but the one who influenced me the most is my university mentor, Mrs. Xiao, an English professor in my college. She’s a very helpful person. She’s in her 50s so she is going to retire soon, but she’s the kind of person who’s like a workaholic, never tired of doing what she does. So I’d say she’s definitely one of the most diligent professors I’ve ever met.
As my mentor, her main responsibility is to assist me with my dissertation, giving me advice on the overall structure of my paper, as well as the details, like, you know, whether my conclusions are backed up by the evidence I provided, or whether my title is brief and to the point or not. We’d usually discuss about those things during her office hours, that is, every Tuesday afternoon. I‘d go visit her in her office, and she’d always say things to encourage me first, like, “ you did a very good job and in general I’m very impressed.” And when talking about my problems, instead of putting things bluntly, she’d be very nice and supportive, telling me what I can work on to make things better.
So obviously I felt very lucky that I had her as my mentor, not only because she’s very professional and helpful, but because she’s got a very sunny personality, which makes me feel positive and hopeful about what I do. I think that kind of attitude has really made a difference in my life.
I haven’t seen her for a while, but I make sure that on big days like teacher’s day, thanksgiving, or new year, I text her and tell her how much I appreciate her support during my university life. And now, I’m also trying to be a useful person, just like her.
