Sample Answer 1 (6
I’m going to talk about a time when I saw a lot of plastics. It was a street market where there were full of food stores. It is a traditional food market, where people can try local snacks. To be more specific, it is the landmark in my city, as it is located by a famous lake. As a result, the street market has attracted a great many visitors from home and abroad every year.
The street is full of ancient architectural complex, which houses antique stores and souvenir shops. The street mainly sells antiques, such as ancient coins and jade carvings. At night, flower lanterns are lightened up and add beauty to the street. I saw a lot of plastic waste when it was a food festival, so people flooded to this market.
The thing is, people threw plastic waste away on the street, which led to a lot of plastic waste. After I saw it, I took pictures of those rubbishes and posted it online, to get more exposure to this man-made pollution.
I would like to explain how I feel about this street. First and foremost, it helps to carry forward Chinese culture, which contributes to better knowledge of China for foreigners. As a result, it’s absolutely vital to keep this street clean with the aim to a good shopping environment. In addition, it provides an entertainment place for citizens to unwind, on the grounds that, it’s our responsibility to protect its environment. Last but not least, it plays a positive effect in promoting city image, in order to attract more visitors to this street market.
Sample Answer 2 (7
I’m going to talk about a time when I saw a lot of plastics. The place where I saw them was in a local park, where people liked to have picnic. I saw these plastics on a Sunday morning, after a carnival on Saturday evening. There’d been so many plastic waste, on the grounds that, people took all sorts of snacks, in particular, crisps, chocolate bars and sandwich boxes. After the event, people just left the plastic packaging on the lane in the park.
After seeing this, I wrote a letter to advocate the government to reduce the use of the plastic bags in my hometown. I was so impressed that I receive their reply, which was that the local government had issued a regulation to reduce the excessive consumption of the plastic bags, which were a main source of pollution. About its content, it mainly conveyed a message that people were encouraged to use paper or cotton bags, or repeatedly use the handy plastic bags in supermarkets and shopping malls. Since in the past, people could get the plastic bags from various supermarkets for free. As a result, our city had witnessed high consumption of the white pollution for years, which would take centuries to degrade. Therefore, we’d like to see a law banning the use of plastic bags.
To put it in a nutshell, I’d like to explain what my thoughts were about this. first of all, large supermarket chains had started to introduce reusable bags and give some rewards to customers who refuse to use plastic bags and I genuinely hope that this would prevent people from using more plastic bags. Plus, this reply raised the public’s green awareness to protect the environment and it’s likely that various efforts would reduce the carbon footprint.
