A friend of yours is thinking of taking a year off to work before going to a university. Explain to your friend why this is or is not a good idea.
Outline:
Opinion: Great idea
Reason #1: Discover what he really likes
Development: Decide what major to pursue; time well-spent
Reason #2: Make money
Development: Pay for tuition & textbooks; have less stress when he starts university
Sample Response:
Well, I think it is a great idea to take a year off and to work. This is because by working, my friend can truly discover what he really likes. He can decide what major he would like to pursue in a university. In that case, I think this is time well spent. Besides, working a year, my friend can make quite some money. And he can just use the money to pay for his tuition, or to pay for his textbooks, so he will have less stress when he starts university. Therefore, I think it is a great idea to take a year off and to work.
