题目:
People who decide on a career path early in their lives and keep to it are more likely to have a satisfying working life than those who often change jobs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
范文:
People may change their jobs for different reasons such as career prospect, income and inter-colleague relations. Some people deem it more promising and satisfying to choose a certain path of career soon after school and persist in this direction than to change jobs frequently. I almost agree with this statement for its consistent nature with some doubts cast on the rightness of the initial choice.
People need time and exertion to excel and gain fulfillment in one’s area. Employees who dedicate themselves to a specific industry gain more opportunities for promotion and a higher salary as they comprehend their working process well throughout the years and managers are prone to allocating undertakings of greater significance to them thanks to their stability. In comparison to repeated job-hoppers, those who stick to the chosen paths are more likely content about their working life as they gain familiarity on colleagues, environments and patterns of daily operations and then fit in whereas those usually abandoning their previous occupations may always find it energy-consuming and difficult to merge into the new workplaces. Therefore, it is clearly more delightful on the former occasion.
However, the tricky and unconvincing parts of the proposal are to make a long-term decision when one is still young and to stick to a path that may be at the wane. Graduates and young professionals are generally quite immature and ignorant on their first job choices when they still focus mainly on a monthly payment rather than other factors. What if the career requires outgoing features and they are more suitable for tasks on their own? What if they will not be able to grow with a highly demanding industry? What if the seemingly attractive sector is already on its way of recession and its practitioners are destined to lose their jobs?
Anyway, one should devote himself to a particular career as it brings decent rewards and happiness in working; however, a wise choice is difficult to make for the majority; thus, one should also be noted about the development of the trade and get ready to take up other callings when necessary.
