题目:
In education and employment, some people work harder than others. Why do some people work harder? Is it always a good thing to work hard?
范文:
Industriousness is a positive value that has been promoted in the global context as social progress is heavily dependent on this spirit. As a result, some people exert more time and effort for better performances mainly for personal future achievements. The essay illustrates this motivation and discuss whether diligence can always be beneficial to all parties.
The reason for hardworking is easy to understand. Despite all the inherent factors like appearance, wealth and intelligence, exertion seems to be one of few controllable components that one possesses to help realize one’s aims. In regard to formal education, the system in most countries is designed to select the talents or the better sort, by setting up exams to assess learning results. Through hardworking, students generally gain relatively better grades than classmates, which in the long term means better pay-grade in future career. In terms of occupation, intelligent is seldom the key demand of a post, but industry. This quality can help employees gain not only overtime payment, but draw attention from managers, gain more opportunities for training and promotions as well because extra efforts generate extra profits.
The spirit for the society and individuals is generally a virtue but sometimes with certain side-effects. It is valuable for individuals because of its fairness for all in accomplish academic and financial targets. Besides, the diligent learners and winners in business set up examples for others to follow, so more people would devote more of their energy and time in generating better results in their majors. In a larger scale, society and civilization advance further and faster thanks to their devotion. However, this rose has its thorny part for each person involved. The daily exhaustion and anxiety for possible failure may torture the industrious and the obvious result of falling behind also afflicts the lazy. Another negative part is the inevitable exploitation when most workers are hardworking and devoted as bosses can either bring down wages or cut down the number of employees for aimed output.
In general, the reasons for diligence are understandable and worth encouraging but some bad outcomes by grinding too much on individuals will certainly come into being in spite of all its advantages.
