Sample Answer 1 (6 分段参考):
I’m going to talk about a rule that I don’t like, which is “Students are not allowed to eat off campus” . About 3 years ago, after the covid-19 pandemic broke out, our school issued this rule. And since then, all students have to eat at the school canteen.
I know the school made the rule for our benefits, but I just don’t like it. I mean, the food served there is fine and the dining environment is also pretty pleasant with over 300 tables available. But the thing is, it turns into a nightmare when everyone flocks into the canteen after class and the canteen will be so packed that every time I go there for lunch or dinner, there will be an incredibly long queue ahead of each window and I have to wait for ages to be served, which has caused me massive inconveniences because every time I finish eating, there’ll be no time left for me to rest or to do anything else but to rush to the next class.
Not only me, lots of my friends are also put off by the rule, complaining about the little time left after they finish their eating. We’ve argued with the school about the rule, but the school seems to be quite insistent and not willing to make any change regarding that.
Whether I’ve followed the rule? Well, according to the rule, if you break it, you get punished. You’ll get a demerit and your name will be put on the noticeboard. So, although I find this rule quite unreasonable, I have no other options but to follow it.
Sample Answer 2 (7 分段参考):
I’m going to talk about a rule that I don’t like, which is “students are not allowed to use electronics during school time” . It’s been a hard and fast rule since the school was established, and I guess it was issued on the grounds that electronic devices, such as phones, tablets and laptops could cause massive distraction and the school wanted the students to stay away from them and fully concentrate on their studies.
To be honest, I’m really put off by the rule because it’s seriously affected my studies and daily life. I mean, I need to use the laptop to go over the lessons while I’m at the dorm in the evening. Also, sometimes I need to use my phone to get in touch with my parents. However, the rule has made such things totally impossible.
Not only me, almost everyone else in our school finds this rule off-putting. In fact, since the rule was introduced, it’s been completely counterproductive and it has caused loads of complaints. We’ve argued with the school for many times about it, hoping that the rule can be bended or a happy medium could be found because it truly has got in the way of our school life, but the school just wouldn’t give in, insisting that the rule is unchangeable, which is really a shame.
Anyway, although I find the rule totally unreasonable, I have no choice but to follow it, because if you break the rule, you get your device confiscated and you get a demerit. So for that reason, everyone seems to have resigned to it and that’s why I don’t like that rule at all.
