Sample Answer:
The first positive thing I can think about is it brings tons of job opportunities. Tourism involves a wide range of industries, like restaurants, hotels, transportation, shopping and so on, which means many more local workforces are in demand. Another benefit I can think about is to advertise local culture, especially in helping preserve some regional traditions. Local handicrafts or minor art may gain more people’s attention with a growing number of tourists. Once there are more people would like to spend on those products or service, the relevant industries will continue blooming.

Why do some young people like to live in cities?
解题思路:

There could be many reasons, but I guess what attract young people most are vibrant and modern lifestyle in urban areas. After their shifts, they can enjoy all kinds of activities, like grabbing a drink in a bar, watching a film, having a tour in an art gallery and so on. No matter what kinds of hobbies they have, a city can always provide some platforms or resources in related fields. In addition, many big corporations locate their headquarters in big cities which create more jobs there. Therefore, young people feel they are more likely to find a promising job in cities.

Do most elderly people live in the city or in the countryside?
解题思路:
Part 3 中这种 yen/no 观点题，同时问的人口又是比较大的，我们就可以考虑分情况回答。比如我们通 常认知，会认为老年人更喜欢在郊区生活，因为其环境更适合老年人，空气质量好，生活节奏慢等等； 但是现在中国有一种现象就是越来越多的老年人会随子女去到大城市，因为更先进的医疗设备，给儿 女们看孩子，分担生活重担等。

It’s hard to say. I guess the majority of elder people are still living in the countryside as the environment is better, like fresh air, a slower-paced life, less stress, more plants and so on. However, we can see a rising number of senior citizens migrating to urban area because medical facilities are more advanced in cities. Also, another factor leads to this phenomenon is that lots of new couples who just start a family need their parents’ help to take care of their children so they can focus better on their career development.

Do you think well-developed tourism will have negative effects on local people?

Yes, for sure. I have read lots of news about how local people’s lives are disturbed by tourists. One is examples is that visitors are not familiar with local traffic so they can drive too slowly, leading to bad traffic congestion in the local area. The increasing number of vehicles from other places also contributes to the environment deterioration.
