Speaking of the person who I really take pleasure in spending time with, I want to tell you something about Freddie, an old and familiar friend of mine.
We got close to each other in high school. At the beginning of the first semester, we didn't know much about each other. But soon after that, we both joined the school music club to pursue our passion in music. I knew how to play the guitar and he was an excellent drummer, so we soon clicked. You know, we had a dream of setting up our own band. But unfortunately, we didn't go too far simply of the pressure from Gaokao. The silver lining is we have become intimate friends since then.
We went to different universities after graduation, but we are still in touch on a frequent basis. We do a range of things together, like watching live music shows, playing basketball and going on a trip. Due to the pandemic, we can't meet that often as we used to, so we make video calls to catch up.
I think the reason why I feel delighted to be with him is that we are quite like-minded. So, he always gets my point and makes me feel free to open up. I don't need to pretend to be someone else and I would never feel out of place when he is by my side. Apart from that, I've also learnt something new from him, like how to put myself in other people's shoes. In short, he's a go-to person in my life.

I’m not really a people person, cause I find socializing with many people very exhausting. I would say it’s the last thing I would do in my free time. I’d rather stay alone or with the people I’m really familiar with. So I’d like to introduce my best friend, Lee.
She is two years older than me, but we went to the same high school together. I got to know her, since one day, she invited me to have lunch with her in the canteen. I guess it was because she didn’t want to eat alone in a crowded place, which she found rather embarrassing. Then, we ended up dining together for the rest of the term and became really close friends.
Now we live in different cities. But every spring festival, we would go back to our hometown and go out together as much as we can. Usually we would hang out in the mall, or enjoy a really nice meal in each other’s house.
I enjoy spending time with her, since she is a very loving and caring person. She often asks me how my day went and how I’m feeling, which Chinese people seldom tend to ask and care about. If I’m stressed out or feel depressed, she would send me some memes or funny videos on the Internet to cheer me up. What’s more, if I meet some daunting tasks, she would offer her helping hand even before I ask. I can’t think of any reason why anyone wouldn’t want to spend time with her.
