Question 1
What are the contests commonly seen on TV programs?
解题思路:
这个题目需要考生列举一些常见的比赛类节目，当然可以包括的例子很多，比如体育竞技类，只是问答 类，唱歌舞蹈类，达人秀等，只要有比赛成分的都可以说。但是要注意在回答这一类列举型的题目时， 不要只是罗列节目的名字等，可以进行一下解释，或者说一下这些节目是否受欢迎，为什么受欢迎，有 什么特点等。
Sample Answer:
Well, the most common one are some game shows, like Running Man, a TV show goes viral in China. It’s a very entertaining and popular show and many celebrities take part in it. Also, in some local channels, some contestants compete for prizes and cash, including cars and vacations, in games that test their sport and movement ability. In addition, we can see an increasing number of reality competitions on TV now, especially some talent shows. Those shows gain tons of audience as we can vote and support competitors whom we really admire.

Why are competition shows popular?

First of all, the success of competition shows comes down to the audience participation. Some rely on viewers to choose who they want to become winners. Actively supporting contestants is required and the
participatory nature makes the show must-see TV. What’s more, there is always some suspension in those competition, meaning that we will never know who the game will until last minute. The urge of discovering the final result can engage us to go back to those shows.
Question 3
What kinds of industries need competition? Why?

Well, I would say industries related to our daily lives, especially when it involves products and service that might determine our life qualities. For example, there should be some competition among builders as accommodation and housing price are related to every single citizen’s life. Without competition, one company might dominate the whole industry, which can induce problems like price premium, or lag in technology.
Question 4
Do you think it is necessary to encourage people to compete with others in companies?

我们在回答 yes/no 的问题时，观点的灵活度可以很高，也就是说我们可以单边论述，也可以说分不同 情况讨论。再有一种就是让步，比如这个答案中，可以承认竞争的有效性，比如一些销售行业中，一定 的竞争可以让员工更好的完成销售目标。但是指出其不合理处，比如长期竞争不如团队合作。长期竞争 压力有可能会让离职率变高，因为大家压力太大。而团队精神则更有利于让员工感到公司的支持。
Sample Answer:
Well, I can only partially agree to this point. I admit that some competition can encourage people to get more motivated, sparing no efforts to hit the targets, such as sales assistants, brokers, or some financial advisers. However, I think teamwork can be more important in a company in a long term. Just imagine, if every employee is working under huge stress of competition, the turnover rate can be really high and companies may lose money for ongoing recruitment and new employee training. In contrast, teamwork will encourage us to share and help our peers, making employees feel more supported.
