Well, when it comes to the things, I do to keep fit and healthy, I would like to share with you something that I am keen on doing in my spare time, which is playing basketball. I usually play basketball in a basketball court near my home, and it is free of charge, and just because of this, this is a very popular place for people who have the same interest as I do. And this is also the place where I met Lin who has become my best friend ever since.
I usually go there on Saturdays or Sundays at peak hours, as around that time, there are more people playing basketball, so it is quite easy to team up. You know, the first time I went there was five years ago, and not many people seemed to know this place, so I usually just played by myself. And on a typical day of Sunday, I met Lin, a young girl who is around my age. She came over and asked if she could join in. Well, this is how our friendship begins.
Well, I have to say that playing basketball has helped me a lot in strengthening my physical health as well as my mental health. I’m telling you; it helps me to burn a lot of calories, I’ve lost almost 10 kg within 2 months. And I felt that my body has become so flexible that I can easily do over 100 push-ups. Not to mention it also helps me to build up my confidence, generally speaking, I feel that the benefits I get from playing basketball is beyond words.

Well, I’m going to talk about an app I use to help me stay in shape and keep healthy. This app is actually called Tik – Tok which has been hugely popular since it was out. This app offers me a highly personalized service, I mean, it provides me a wide range of videos according my hobbies and interests, You know, I’m an avid fan of working out , so this app usually recommends me videos posted by fitness instructors. One day, When I was scrolling on Tic-Tik,It was this fitness instructor who grabbed my attention. In this video, he was teaching his followers to do aerobics, the movements were simple and easy to follow but it actually required a lot of effort and stamina. Anyway, it is a creative way to keep fit at home, I mean, not going to the gym and following this internet influencer, doing aerobics at home, since you know, this pandemic is still going on.
Moving on to the second question which is when I do it, well, I don’t do it on a regular basis because once in a while I have to study for my exams, like reviewing economics, physics and things like that. However, as long as I have time, I’ll invite my father to do this aerobics with me. The thing is my father is a little bit overweight so he needs to get some exercises , another thing is that this aerobics is very effective, I mean , doing it for just 10 minutes can make my father out of breath and sweat buckets
There are several reasons why I think this method is very important. First things first, it is very energy – consuming and it helps me stay in shape, consequently, it actually lowers the risks of getting heart disease and boosts my immune system which protects me from this annoying virus. Second, following a fitness trainer on tik- tok is very easy and all the movements are absolutely friendly to beginners, like lifting up my legs, stretching my left arm over to the right, wiggling my shoulder and stuff like. Last, it is completely free of charge, you know, I am a student so I can’t afford those expensive fitness lessons.
