I’d like to introduce a special day out that didn’t cost me much money.
It was the year when I was a senior student at university. We were about to graduate and leave the place
we spent almost four years in, so my friend and I decided to explore the campus a bit more before we left, especially the parts we barely visited.
First, we went to the school canteen at the other end of the university. We seldom went there since it was quite far from our dormitory and teaching buildings that we routinely went to. To our surprise, the food there was even cheaper than the one we usually had. I guess it was because the manager wanted to attract more customers. Then, after the delicious meal, we decided to take a stroll around the lake to help us digest. I remember, the evening breeze was so cool and comfortable. We took a lot of photos of each other and the beautiful sunset.
Therefore, I didn’t spend much money that day. If my memory serves me right, I only spent fifteen yuan in total, cause as I just mentioned, the food in the school canteen was so cheap. Besides, taking a walk didn’t cost a penny.
Regarding how I felt, well, it was an enjoyable day for me, since we had a look around the campus before we graduated. It was amazing to still find somewhere new in a place we were so familiar with, but at the same time, it was sad to say goodbye to the colorful campus life in a month. All in all, it was a memorable day.

Well, speaking of this experience，I'd like to say something about an outing we went on almost two months ago.
Well, as you know, since the pandemic it had been a long while since me and my friend went out together. We were almost used to sticking around indoor or staring at the screen for hours day, so ever since my friend Amy proposed this idea, we had been super thrilled!
We went into this newly opened family-run restaurant which was incredibly welcoming and inviting. And the owner was a nice gentleman with a smiley face and fabulous culinary skills! As I mentioned, we hadn’t seen each other face to face for centuries, it was really nice to catch up with my old pals. For what’s worth, compared to the fancy Michelin restaurant, this little deli was very much more cozy and comfy with quite reasonable price as well as good quality.
To my surprise, we were even invited to give opinions about how the food was cooked 100% according to our preference, you can even bring some raw materials on your own ‘cuz the owner was so generous and considerate, obviously, this is not a place just for maximizing the profit!
Eventually, this tiny little dinner party didn’t end until midnight, here came the highlight moment, when we asked for the check, the owner Paul gave us a big discount, for almost 30% off! Just because we reminded him of the family gathering he used to have. Honestly, we did have a blast there!
This experience has been curved deep in my heart, it didn’t cost so much, but this is the most precious one for nothing expensive would hold a candle to the time with old mates!
