I walk to talk about a well-known person in my country. She is Han Hong. She is a singer, and she plays a bunch of instruments like guitar, piano, and things like that. She is in her 50s, and she has been active for many decades, which is very impressive. Han Hong started as a singer, she became famous for her high, silky voice and extraordinary singing skill. Other singers at her time could also sing high notes, but she did it so effortlessly. Another brilliant point about Han Hong is that she is so versatile. I mean, while many singers stick to one or two styles, Han Hong can pick up any song and sing beautifully. Later in her career, she is invited frequently to take part in talent shows as either a contestant or a judge because if she's there, the view count of the show is guaranteed. Han Hong is not only popular for her understanding of music, but also for her love and care. Though she doesn't have a biological child, she adopted hundreds of children. She also established her own charity to help people in need. More recently, she donated millions for food and medical supplies to regions suffering from the COVID-19 outbreak. I look up to Han Hong, partly because my parents and grandparents all love her, and that kind of influences me, and also because she has a beautiful soul.

Well, the person who goes down pretty well in my country would definitely be Jay Chou. To me, he is an exemplary singer-songwriter who is reasonably big in the music industry with his fantastic musicianship. I think he's the sort of person who is absolutely versatile. I mean, he has stepped into different fields like starring in movies, mentoring candidates in music competitions, running his own music company, and things like that. He rose up to fame roughly 2 decades ago but now he's still well thought of by people across China and even Asia. And recently roughly over 15 million people have registered to watch the cutback of his recorded concert online, and I think that figure proves his popularity. I got to know him when I was a primary school student just after he released his second album named fantasy. When I look back I know that album is ground-breaking, like a milestone in the music industry, but at that time I didn't quite get the lyrics or the mastery skills he adopted in music production, what captured me was the stylistic melody and his vocals. I mean, I hadn’t heard anyone else singing like him before. I think the reason why he is well received is that he’s got the sort of A-grade level musicianship, super talented. But what brings him the long-lasting popularity would be the power within his songs, you know, when we hear his songs, a bunch of memories of our teenage years will be brought out. They provoke nostalgic emotion but also imagery of pastimes. It’s like memories come flooding back and it is his songs that have witnessed our teenage years and really bring us back even so many years have passed.
