Sample answer:

I wouldn’t say I’m a natural for calligraphy, but when I was six or seven years old, I already showed a gift for that. I mean, I could write Chinese characters with a certain style and I did put a lot of work into it. I remember there was a neighbor of mine who was also a big fan of Chinese calligraphy, and after he saw the talent that I had, he gave me a pen as a gift to help fulfill my potential.
