在答这道题之前，可以先想一下自己都经历过哪些挑战，可以是学习上的、技能上的、生活中的等等。接下来可以叙述一下什么时候遇到的这个挑战以及当时的心情。之后再讲一下为什么觉得这件事情很有挑战性，可以从时间、事情本身的难度、以及需要的技能等方面进行拓展。在描述如何战胜困难的时候，除了自身的努力之外，还可以考虑一下他人的帮助。最后就可以讲一讲结果，以及自己的感受和领悟。
Sample Answer
I ’ m going to talk about a time when I passed a Japanese-language proficiency test.
When I was a sophomore, I had an opportunity to study in Japan as an exchange student for a year. It was really a great opportunity for me since I’d been quite interested in Japanese culture and I’d been a big fan of Japanese anime and games. But to be enrolled in the program, a certificate of Japanese language was required by the university in Japan.
When I saw the requirement, I got a little panicky, since the deadline was in three months, which meant I had very limited time to make preparation. Although I had picked up a little Japanese by watching anime, movies and TV dramas, I was definitely not a fluent and proficient user of the language. It seemed to be a “mission impossible”, since you know, learning a language is no picnic. It takes a lot of time and effort to build vocabulary and learn about grammatical rules. However, I really didn’t want to miss the chance, so I pulled out all the stops to prepare for the test.
The first thing I did was to ask for advice and suggestions from my friends and school mates who had already acquired the certificate. They recommended a lot of reference books and videos which were extremely useful and helpful. Then, I spent all my spare time in the library working on my language skills. Also, I did a lot of practice in order to get familiar with the question types in the tests.
Finally, I made it. Although I didn’t pass with flying colors, I was still on cloud nine and felt proud of myself. This experience has made me more convinced that when there’s a will, there’s a way. The sky is the limit. Every challenge can be overcome as long as you set your heart on overcoming it.
