The interesting city I'm going to talk about is Lijiang, which is situated in the southwest of China. What holds so much appeals to be is that in this city, high-rise buildings contrast entirely with age-old houses. In addition, as a touristy place, the city boasts an exciting mix of rural adventure and urban energy. Consequently, this city has attracted millions of visitors all over the globe each year.
It has been widely known for its ancient town, on the grounds that, there've been tons of quint rooms, exquisite pavilions and age-old stone bridges, where tourists could get a real sense of history, appreciating traditional architecture styles. As a result, it's been a great place for people to acquire knowledge of history and culture.
I've got to know this place from a fascinating exhibition, which tells about a once-in-a-life-time journey through Yunnan, including a visit to the town.
To put it in a nutshell, I'd like to explain why I find this city intriguing. First things first, it's been a great place for outdoor activity lovers, famously known for spectacular natural splendors, in particular, snow-capped mountains, where people can climb to the peak so they've got the chance to escape city stress. On top of that, visitors can have a leisurely lifestyle, strolling along the narrow streets, sipping a cuppa at one of the hilltop cafes and appreciating the fabulous view of snowy mountains. Above all else, tourists can enjoy the exotic minority cultures to widen their outlook.
