There are a world of difference between handwriting and typing. First off, handwriting encourages us to focus, as it requires note takers to synthesize information. Whereas, typing notes is a way to transcribe the information without interacting with it. On top of that, typing enables us to express ideas quickly, because it’s easier to type in a word processing program. Conversely, when we write by hand, we slow down, as it requires complicated muscle movements.
