I’d like to talk about my idol Edison Chen who used to be a singer and actor. His father is an accomplished businessman, so maybe doing business is in his DNA.
He’s a trendsetter and fashion pioneer. After he retired from show business, he started his own fashion brand called CLOT, which is a streetwear label and lifestyle brand. His aim is to bridge the eastern and western cultural gap. I have to say, he’s quite successful.
What’s amazing about him is that he always adds Chinese elements into his design, for example, he once cooperated with Nike Air Force, and he used white silk as the main theme. The youth are crazy about it. His store JUICE has become one of the famous tourist spots in Hong Kong.
Like I said in the beginning, he’s my idol and role model. He’s not afraid to be himself and he’s a great inspiration for the younger generation. My dream is to set up my own brand as well and his spirit has always been guiding me. I wish I could be someone like him one day.
