在雅思口语Part 3曾经考过“如何使英语学习变得生动有趣”，我们就按照这个思路，来虚构一节梦想的英语课吧。我们可以从老师下手，把这位英文老师塑造成一位知心大姐姐，精通教学法，深知学生喜好，课堂活动丰富多彩，寓教于乐，帮助孩子们爱上英语，顺便通过考试。嗯，好了，梦醒了开始干活儿……
对了，这样的英文老师还可以顺便帮我们搞定一个话题，就是类似于“积极改变”这样的，来个前后对比，之前对英语“恨之入骨”，现在“爱不释手”，看，多扣题!
Recently, I changed my attitude toward English. I used to think English is all about memorizing vocabulary and all those awful grammar, so I had no interest in this subject at all. Every English class was like a torture for me. I just found it mind-numbingly tedious.
However, the other day, we had a substitute teacher, ‘cause our English teacher called in sick. And surprisingly, this new teacher totally brought this boring subject back to life for me.
She’s absolutely gorgeous and vigorous. Her laughter is penetrating and contagious, which could light up the whole room. Besides, she really has a way with us, I mean, she always knows how to spark interest in us, and how to lighten the atmosphere with her entertaining class activities.
For example, instead of making us memorize the articles in the textbook, she organized the whole class to perform a drama show. I have to say, that was the most enjoyable English class I’d ever had.
We spent almost 3 weeks together, I guess not just me, the whole class must have fallen in love with her and English. Just like she said, her dream is to help students truly master this language, getting high marks in exams is just a bonus.
Thanks to her, English started to grow on me. I’m really grateful to her.
雅思口语语言知识点解析：
be all about somebody / something = used to say what the most important aspect of something is 例如：
It's all about money these days.
torture = mental or physical suffering; something that causes this 例如：
The interview was sheer torture from start to finish.
tedious = lasting or taking too long and not interesting = boring 例如：
The journey soon became tedious.
We had to listen to the tedious details of his operation.
substitute teacher = a teacher employed to do the work of another teacher who is away because of illness, etc.
call in = to telephone a place, especially the place where you work 例如：
Several people have called in sick today.
penetrating = (of a sound or voice) loud and hard 例如：
Her voice was shrill and penetrating.
contagious = spread quickly to other people. 例如：
(figurative) His enthusiasm was contagious.
have a way with somebody / something = to be good at dealing with somebody / something 例如：
He has a way with small children.
She has a way with words (= is very good at expressing herself).
lighten = to feel or make somebody feel less sad, worried or serious 例如：
My mood gradually lightened.
She told a joke to lighten the atmosphere.
master = to learn or understand something completely 例如：
to master new skills/ techniques
French was a language he had never mastered.
