上次我们谈了雅思口语Part 2 的interesting story(戳题目看解析),这次继续这个口语话题,我们来看看在雅思口语part3中考官可能针对那个话题出哪些内容。
雅思考官很可能问大家以下问题:
What kinds of stories do children like to learn?
What kinds of novels do old people like to read?
How often do people in your country read novels?
What are the benefits of listening to stories?
Are you a good storyteller?
上面都是比较经典的Part 3问题,雅思口语中一直对小孩儿啦,老人啦的话题很感兴趣,当然benefit问题也是出镜率比较高的问题。在Part 3也能见到类似Part 1针对我们自身的问题,比如Do you play any sports at night? What would you do if you don’t want to lend something to others? When was the last time you found it hard to accept an apology? 等等。除了这些“私人”问题,剩下的Part 3问题要尽量的talk in general,不要没事儿就拿自己说事儿哦!
好,下面就来看看这些问题的答题思路,仅供参考:
What kinds of stories do children like to learn?
Well, generally girls are into fairy tales, like Snow White, the Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and stuff like that, you know, with all those happy endings. And I believe that’s why those action figures sold in Disney Land are so popular with girls. As for boys, I guess most of them are crazy about superheroes, for example, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Ironman and others with super powers and fancy equipment, which it’s mostly a boy thing, but there are girls who are also big fans of Marval and DC comics.
What kinds of novels do old people like to read?
Well, in my opinion, when people are getting old, they tend to be nostalgic, so they might be interested in some novels telling the stories of the past, which they can really relate to, you know. And… those classic masterpieces can also be their favorites. And when you are in the bookstore, there would be a list of recommendations for old people, most of which are stories about family life, education, health and things like that. At least that’s the case in China.
How often do people in your country read novels?
Wow, that’s really hard to say, I mean, it’s kind of hard to generalize. People in different age groups have their own “reading schedule”. For students, they might read novels as a part of their assignment, because sometimes they have to finish book reports on a weekly or monthly basis. As for people who work, they might do some reading on the weekends or on their way to or back from work on the subway. And those senior citizens who have retired can read whenever they want ‘cause they have plenty of spare time.
What are the benefits of listening to stories?
Well, listening to an audiobook or having someone read a book to you could have quite a few benefits. First of all, people can finish reading a book in a shorter time, especially for those who are not fast readers. And also you can listen while you do other things like housework or workout. And on top of that, it’s just more entertaining, and it can also be a wonderful experience if the reader’s voice is gentle and soothing. It would be just like bedtime stories which can help me be fully relaxed.
Are you a good storyteller?
Well, to be honest, I don’t think I am. My friends said that I kind of suck at storytelling. I just have the weird ability to turn a fascinating story into an extremely boring one, so it’s really hard for me to keep a crowd interested. Maybe I need to work on my storytelling skills, I mean, I must have done it wrong.
