I want to talk about a place I visited where the air quality was really poor. Last winter vacation, I went to a small town beside Qingdao to visit my friend and the town is famous for its industrial history and there is an international airport located in that area. The town is not too far away from where I live, it roughly took me about one hour to drive there. However, the air quality was so different, I mean, so much worse than that in my hometown.
Speaking of the reasons why the air was not good there...first of all, there are many factories in that town as well as some pretty prosperous manufacture companies and supply chains. For that reason, the air was polluted due to the industrial development. Another reason was that during the winter time, the problem of smog was quite bad and the emission from trucks for carriage of goods made the situation even worse.
Moving on to how I felt about that place...well, obviously, I did not enjoy the visit very much. Instead, I wore the mask everyday to protect myself from possible disease caused by bad air, like coughing. Also, I felt the whole place looked so dead. No matter where I went, the place just looks like a photo with a gray-colored filter. So for sure, it was not a very ideal place for living.

Air pollution has been a sever issue in many cities around the world. Although the authorities have engaged many policies to deal with it, the problem is still there and now I want to describe a small village that has the same issue. It was actually last summer when I went to a village near my hometown with my friend for a short excursion. Before the trip, my expectation was pretty high as the place was recommended by many internet influencers and views there looked amazing. So my friend and I chose that place as our destination.
As long as we went there, we noticed that the air was really bad as I started to cough on the first day. In the morning, we could see the village was full of smoke. We were so innocent, thinking it was because local people still used some traditional way to cook or barbecue some food. Gradually we realized that the weird smell and smoke were actually caused by the factories nearby.
Moving on to how I felt about the place...well, honestly, it was pretty disappointing trip. Knowing the fact that it was such a polluted place, we lost our interests of hanging around. Originally, my friend and I planned to stay there for about four days. However, we ended up leaving the place after two days as we really concerned on our health. Also, I noticed that trees and flowers seemed lifeless there and I really hope the local government could take some efforts to solve the problem or they will lose more tourists in the future.
