I personally tend to believe that younger and older children don’t share common interest in the same stories. In contrast, older children will go with science fictions or children encyclopedias, on the ground that they’ve been curious about the world and get to explore more from reading.

I guess there are a range of reasons why children have been obsessed with stories.
