Some people say that men and women are born with different qualities and so men are more suitable for some jobs, while women are more suitable for other jobs.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Men and women seemed to be genetically designed to do different jobs according to work division in ancient times when men were in charge of tasks requiring stamina and strength while women responsible for household duties. Therefore, It is stated that each gender is more apposite for certain jobs in relation to the inborn variation and I believe this opinion hardly relevant to present situations.
It is undeniable that some jobs are still in favor of specific gender. Physical strength, decisiveness and other qualities feature prominently in jobs suitable for men, such as miners, fishermen and military officers, whereas females actually do way better in tending, preschool teaching and communication so that most vacancies of hospital nursing, kindergarten, customer service and public relation are occupied by females.
However, with more mechanical automation getting involved, many undertakings that used to be of masculine nature now can be fulfilled by both genders because physical labor is being replaced by machines and human beings are merely operators. Therefore, physical capability is no longer the barrier to these jobs. What is more, thanks to technology advancement and widespread education, more jobs than ever requires personal excellence instead of gender advantages. For instance, women have entered the field of science, politics and science and men have also been able to honor their family commitments without feeling loss of masculinity. In addition to previous aspects, projects nowadays are so complex and demanding that they require diverse merits of participants. Thus, it is only the cooperation between the two genders that generates ideal outcomes by and large.
In my perspective, although gender traits still account for a certain part of job preference, individual proficiency, expertise and technique play more decisive roles. Therefore, nevermore will the saying that gender is the hindrance of certain jobs have a leg to stand on.
