1.Some people believe that development of technology is making life more complicated, and we should return to simpler life without using technology. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (20170218)
Sample answer：
The advent of modern technology is often blamed for adding complexity to our life, and sometimes it develops much faster than the degree of our acceptance. I frequently hear a reference said the elderly “a simpler time” that in my opinion should never return.
In China, I often read that a historical figure had accomplished his entire life for one particular project, while modern technology has allowed us to achieve multiple tasks in one life time. That is, telecommunication, transportation and computing system have given us more person time to manipulate. Sure, it seems difficult and irritating to get a driving license, but think about the time it saves when we travel across provinces. Also, learning to correctly type a computer keyboard is one heavy decision for the above-60s, whereas this personal skill increases working efficiency by a half time than traditional hand writing. Not to mention what convenience mobile phones can bring.
In fact, there are tons of enormously complicated technologies that we have to go through various steps to get a head, but I concede one point – all gadgets and systems are aiming to simplify our lives. With this sole purpose, they evolve under our supervision as to whether they can create acceptable and convenient lifestyle to us or not. As long as the new creation makes our life better and easier, then they can be woven into the fabric of technological inventions.
For those who feel modern technologies are too difficult to accept, I think that they feel just reluctant to learn new things. I’ve seen elderly playing with computer programs so neatly, while people at similar age complain how dialing a phone number on a touch screen is “not possible”.
2.Some people believe using the modern technology (digital photograph, blogs) is the best way to record and remember important personal events. Others think the traditional method （making photo albums, writing diaries）is better. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. (20220512)

People used to keep records for significant private affairs by setting up photo albums or handwritten diaries whereas now the majority urban dwellers favor the digitalized means to either record or share online, thanks to the advancement of contemporary technology. Some believe the new approach convenient, impressive and thus crowd-pleasing whereas others insist on the old school for artistic and private reasons.
People nowadays extensively take advantage of digital records for personal matters. By using any smartphone, anyone can easily shoot photos or videos of whatever is appealing and worth noticing, which can hold comparatively more pieces than traditional film-rolling device. Besides, for storage and transmission, producers of electronic goods have provided cloud services that allow users upload and access their shoots merely with network connection, instead of worrying data loss due to equipment damage or missing. Even more pleasing, online social networking have proved and will be continuously proving itself a place where these recordings are not only remembered by their creators, but even better - to be shared with family, friends and acquaintances.
Still, there are people expecting their memorable events taken or noted down in more remarkable or private ways. Major life events like graduation and wedding are supposed to be recorded in professional hands whose works then could be displayed indoor as both reminders of good memory and decorations of houses. In order to protect their privacy, considerable number of people are noting down daily experiences in written form as before. This is totally plausible as online blogs may be hacked and searched by men of bad intentions.
In my view, because of the major and apparent advantages when it comes to recording and sharing personal issues, it seems wise and sound to make use of modern technology.
