This topic reminds me of a taxi driver I met the other day.
It was about a week ago, after work, I grabbed a taxi. My home is pretty far from my workplace, about 30 minutes’ drive, at least. And that was totally a torture for me that day, ‘cause the driver was super talkative.
The minute I got into the car, he just started talking. First, he complained about the weather, like how heavy the rain was, and then, about the traffic, ‘cause the traffic is always horrible on rainy days, you know. And after that, he started to complain about the last passenger, who was, according to him, a back-seat driver. I was like, ‘Oh my god, stop whining!’ but of course I didn’t say it, I needed to hold it in ‘cause I wanted to be polite, you know.
Actually, that was all OK, I can be a ‘good listener’ sometimes, but what happened next really irritated me, ‘cause he started to ask me tons of personal questions, like ‘Do you have a boyfriend?’ or ‘How much can you make every month?’
And that was not over, we were listening to the radio at that time, the program is about audience calling the host to share their love life, and the driver started to make harsh comments on the caller. And then, he went on and on about his own emotional problems, which was killing me.
Honestly, I’ve never met such a talkative person like him.
