雅思口语里一个最近的话题问describe a situation when you had to be polite。
I’d like to talk about the time I had to be polite to my father’s business partner.
This uncle likes to drink a lot, but I’m not saying he’s an alcoholic, ‘cause my father will never do business with alcoholics. What I’m saying is, he always behaves badly after he gets drunk, for example, he often goes on and on about his achievements in the past, which is really annoying. And the worst part is, he talks really loudly, and sometimes, when he’s really happy, he even jumps onto the table and starts to dance. That’s super embarrassing, you know. I don’t like him that much, ‘cause I don’t think he’s professional or serious enough. However, he’s my father’s business partner, so I have to show him some respect and be polite every time I meet him.
One day, he invited me and my father to eat out in a restaurant. And not surprisingly, he got drunk again. This time, he did something even more ridiculous. In order to prove how powerful and tough he was, he found a brick and tried to break it in half with his bare hand. I felt so embarrassed sitting next to him, but I didn’t say anything, I even applaud him, just to be polite, you know.
I really hope I don’t need to have dinner with him again.
I’d like to talk about the time my father’s business partner visited my home.
One day, my father invited him to my home, to have dinner together. My mom prepared lots of dishes for us. And not surprisingly, he got drunk again. This time, he did something even more ridiculous. He started to sing loudly, I felt all of my neighbors could hear him. I felt so embarrassed sitting next to him, but I didn’t say anything, I even applaud him, just to be nice, you know.
I hope that was the last time he came to my home.

Do you feel like eating out tonight?
ridiculous = very silly or unreasonable例如:

I look ridiculous in this hat.
bare = not covered by any clothes例如:
