I have a team jersey of my favorite football team, and I only wear it once every four years during the World Cup.
I got it when I was in Spain. On my first day there, I just couldn’t wait to rush to the store for crazy football fans where jerseys of National Football Teams are available, there are also footballs that were used in the games, and small stuff like badges and cellphone cases, action figures of those players, you name it. So you see, it’s a heaven for fanatics like me, we could get anything we want.
I bought Messi’s white jersey with a huge number 10 in the back. It actually didn’t cost me much, but it has become priceless because of what happened next.
After I bought it, I went to the training field where all the stars were practicing. Of course I couldn’t get in, I just waited outside the gate with a whole bunch of other fans. I wanted to get their autographs, I knew it was a long shot, but I still decided to give it a try.
The crowd suddenly started to get excited, I knew they must have finished their training. When I saw their cars, I just ran to them and handed the jersey to whoever I saw. They were actually super nice, that day, the jersey was full of autographs, both front and back.
So, that’s the reason why I only wear it every four years. It just means too much to me.
