(The car ran off the road into a ditch.),或者半路遇到野狼,再或者遭遇极端的天气,导航突然失灵(GPS stopped working),轮胎突然爆掉(got a flat),或者同行的人有人晕车(carsickness),有人生病,有人水土不服上吐下泻……
I’d like to talk about the road trip I had to Inner Mongolia with my mom when I was little.
That was many years ago, but I could still remember it well, ‘cause it was actually a horrible experience.
First of all, I suffered from serious carsickness. In my memory, I basically puked all the time when I was in the car. I felt terrible.
While we were there, we stayed in a huge tent, you know, the typical house for Mongolians. That was a complete nightmare. The mosquitos there were this big! And they could bite your legs even when you were wearing pants. If I remember right, I got 25 mosquito bites in less than 5 minutes when I was in the toilet. It was really painful, I couldn’t even sit down, you know. And I had to wear a mask when I was sleeping.
Besides, I couldn’t get used to the diet there. For example, the milk tea served in Mongolia was salty! The first time I drank it, I thought it was some kind of drink that went bad.
But… well, on the upside, we could have a barbecue whenever we wanted to. And I had to say, the lamb chops and legs of lamb there were out of this world! It’s something I’d never tasted before. So I guess that made up for the miserable experience.
