I’d like to talk about an advertisement for Coca Cola that I watched the other day on the Internet. It got millions of hits.
电影:
I’d like to talk about a Chinese movie about brotherhood called Bieyangxiongdiqing, if we translate that into English, it would be ‘a special bond between brothers’.
书籍:
I’d like to talk about a Chinese novel called …
I first read this book when I was in high school, and it was such a page-turner so I just finished reading it in one sitting, you know, it just turned hours into seconds.
然后讲主体内容:
Basically it tells a story about two brothers who live under the same roof, one is a high school student, and the other is a primary school kid. Well, just to make the story easier to tell, I’ll call the big guy Mike and the little one Eric.
At first, I thought their relationship is really tense, I mean, Mike always gives Eric a hard time, like, playing pranks on him, for example, when he’s sleeping, Mike would draw a mustache on his face, so Eric would get laughed at on the way to school. And when they are at dinner table, Mike constantly steps on Eric’s feet, and pretends nothing is happening. And sometimes, when Eric is reaching for something on the shelf, Mike would move that thing to a higher place that is out of Eric’s reach/so that Eric couldn’t reach it.
But it turned out I was wrong.
One day, after PE class, Eric was resting on a bench, and when he was about to take a sip of the coke, (which of course is coca cola), three bullies took away his bottle, and teased him. Eric was too afraid to say a word. At this moment, Mike showed up, he threatened those annoying bad guys and got Eric’s bottle back.
I was so touched! Suddenly I wish I could have a brother who can be there for me, like, stand up for me when I’m in trouble.
结尾
I was so touched by this commercial / movie / book. It’s such a sweet story.
