雅思口语话题又出现了喜欢的科目,对于现在流行“技术宅”,但是用nerd或者computer geek形容他们未免太offensive!生活大爆炸里也说Smart is the new sexy. 所以面对an area of subject that you are interested in这个话题,技术男神们是时候出来给自己正名了!
Technophile就是指a person who is enthusiastic about new technology,它的反义词是technophobe,表示a person who is afraid of, dislikes or avoids new technology。所以,如果你是computer science的死忠粉,就满怀热情的在雅思口语中抒发一下你的热爱吧:
The subject I’m fascinated by is computer science, which was also my strong suit.
For starters, my computer science teacher is really awesome, I mean, he’s the most humorous teacher I’ve ever seen. And he’s super knowledgeable and amiable. Although he’s 20 years older than us, there’s no generation gap at all. When we are together, we could talk whatever we like.
And another thing I like about this subject is that our teacher always encouraged us to put what we’ve learned into practice. So he often took us to participate in some robot competitions, you know, to let us have a better understanding of the knowledge we got from the textbook.
And I have a great affection for this subject also because it can facilitate our life. For example, I could use code and program to change the way people live. Now we are familiar with all kinds of Apps on our phone, that’s all because of the development of computer science. So it’s fair to say, this subject has dramatically changed our society. Just the thought that I could make a difference by using the knowledge I learned in this subject could get me super psyched.
I didn’t get to major in this subject when I was in college, but I’m hoping I could study more about it when I’m in graduate school.
