口语考试里，有一个题目是something you want to learn more或者a skill you want to learn。关于这个话题其实孩子们想法超级多，比如很多孩子高三毕业后会想学习开车，还有学弹吉他，健身舞蹈瑜伽之类的，仿佛高中毕了业人生就会达到一个全新的境界。
当然每种技能都会有它的benefit，我们此时只需要在众多技能中挑一个不超出我们储备语料范围的就行。
学习开车(get a driver’s license)的话，好处就是随时可以出去兜风放松心情(go for a ride)，不用担心高峰时段打不到车，去哪里都很方便自由，而且假期还可以来个公路自驾游(go on a road trip)，然后每种分别展开说几句。
同理，学习某种乐器，某项运动，也可以列出几条好处再分别阐述。下面，针对留学党的生存技能—做饭，这里给出了一篇参考素材，有同感的烤鸭们，可以稍微借鉴一下下：
Well, the skill I want to learn is cooking/culinary arts.
I have been a foodie since I was little, and I could name all the restaurants which served palatable food in my hometown. Later, cooking started to grow on me. I remember when my mom was cooking in the kitchen, I would sneak in there, trying to remember the procedure about how she prepared the food. I guess, as I grew older, I was not satisfied with just eating. I wanted to cook all those savory dishes myself. But when I was in primary school, I tried to make myself some fried rice, but maybe I didn’t handle the amount of oil so well, and I almost set the kitchen on fire. From then on, my mom just wouldn’t let me anywhere near the kitchen anymore.
But my passion for cooking did not fade. I just find it amazing and mysterious, ‘cause different people can cook the same dish with various tastes even if they refer to the same recipe book. I really have a great interest in this.
Plus, I’m going off to college soon, maybe in a year or so. I don’t think I can get used to the food in a foreign country that easily. So cooking for myself is a necessary skill. I know there would be Chinese restaurants everywhere, but I can’t afford to dine out every day. That would be way out of my budget. And also, I was told that Chinese food/cuisine is very popular among foreign students. I guess if I can cook mouth-watering dishes, then I can invite my classmates over, throw a party or something, which I’m sure, is a good way to make new friends.
做饭的好处还有很多，比如安全卫生(hygienic)，健康有营养(nutritious)，还可以放心的选用有机食材(organic ingredients)等等。各路小吃货们，集思广益吧!
