最近北京下了大雪，故宫游客爆满。估计大家是想体验一下步步惊心的赶脚，穿越回清朝见见阿哥们吧…… Anyway，提到historical building，让中国考生最骄傲最自豪的，那就是紫禁城啊对不对!所以无论是为了应试。

　　还是以后出国跟小伙伴们臭显摆，都得会拿英文介绍故宫呀!好了不多说，希望下面滴素材大家觉得有用：

　　I’d like to talk about the Forbidden City which was a palace complex consisting of more than 900 buildings. It was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, so it has almost 500 years of history. As you can imagine, this world heritage site has become a magnet for tourists all over the globe. It is located in the center of Beijing, and now houses the Palace Museum that holds a whole collection of artwork from Ming and Qing Dynasty. As far as I know, it is the most visited museum in the world.

　　I went there when I was in primary school with my mom. Back then, I was very little, so this palace seemed huge to me. And all the rooms and chambers looked similar to one another. What I can recall is that almost all the roofs in the Forbidden City bear yellow glazed tiles, which is splendid. Our guide told us it was because yellow is the color of the Emperor. And red stands for power, so the color red is also very common here. What impressed me the most is the royal garden with countless rare species of plants and flowers. And the sculptures and fountains are really mind-blowing.

　　Being in the palace, people could have a peek into the lives of the emperor and his households, which I suppose everyone is curious about. And I think that’s why those costume dramas in China about travelling back in time to the Qing Dynasty are so popular.

　　As to why it’s important to our country, well, I think the Forbidden City reflects the wisdom of our ancestors, you know, the palatial architecture and the wooden structures. And it witnessed the ups and downs of China in the past. So it means a lot to Chinese people.
